Cher Ami (French for "dear friend") was a female homing pigeon who had been donated by the pigeon fanciers of Britain for use by the U.S. Army Signal Corps in France during World War I and had been trained by American pigeoners. She is most famous for delivering a message from an encircled battalion despite serious injuries during the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, October 1918.

These pieces were created by first designing a basic set of graphic design elements, and then using Javascript to randomize the arrangement of the shapes into compositions.
Assembling a geometric vocabulary into an order has the effect of foreign language; the graphic quality of abstracted typography.

ICONOGRAPHY
Designing contemporary iconography often demands staking a claim in new territory. For example, "pivot" and "malware"; these are words for concepts that didn't even exist twenty years ago, but have now become a part of the modern lexicon. My approach to establishing a visual language for these new concepts involves a level of general cheekiness, as expected by the audience of the internet age.
